Amber & Sergeant Colleen Bristow
Amber is a sweet 15-year-old girl who wants to be a police officer when she grows up. Her and her friend Colleen instantly bonded when they were introduced in June.
Colleen has been a member of the Pittsburgh Police Department for eight years. She recently was promoted to the rank of Sergeant. When Colleen heard of CCChampions' mission, she immediately reached out and quickly became a member of the family. Coincidently, we had the perfect kid to match Colleen with, not only because Amber is an aspiring police detective, but also because Colleen is the mother of a 15-year-old girl herself!
Amber was ecstatic to meet Colleen and her fellow Officer, Robert Monticelli at Children's Hospital of Pittsburgh. The three enjoyed getting to know each other and the officers showed Amber their weapons and other on-the-job tools. They also shared a few stories about their police work. It was a great day full of smiles!
Colleen has already brought the bomb squad and a forensics officer with her to visit Amber! Over the next several months, Amber and her police officer friends will join in some incredible moments — they're hoping to try out a lie detector test, SWAT training, K-9 interactions, and visit the Pittsburgh Police Academy!
Question: Hey Amber — if you could do anything with your new police officer friend, what would you want to do?
Amber — "Hmm... Well, I'd really like to see what it's like to be tasered! :)"
NOTE: We're not actually going to taser Amber, BUT her new officer friends are hoping to get her a taser training cartridge to try a taser that doesn't actually hurt!
